I'm getting ready to invest in some new underwear. Does anybody use the Weezles? If so, what thickness is good for florida? compact or extreme? If I go with DUI, would the 400G be recommended? Glen

Unless you get cold easily I would opt for the compact in FL. I have a set of 400gr thinsulate that is just too hot to wear unless it is frezeing cold out. You might also want to look at the new DR primaloft, very similar to the Weezle. I picked up a set recently and I love them. Basically a 200gr loft like the compact. Stay nice and toasty during a 2+hr scooter run through JB with around 30 minutes of deco.

I agree with DeWayne (just this time). My weezle extreme is too warm for most Florida dives... totally too much for my neoprene drysuits, and I need extra weights (lead) when using it with my CF200. I only use it with my CF200, and only on long dives, long decos or cold water dives.

My last DUI underwear didn't last a year before the insulation was all in my wrists and ankles...

I am happy with the weezle, but I use a Henderson 1 mil 'skin' (it is not neoprene) 'wet suit', with a regular sweater, as underwear most of the time.

If I were rich, I would get the thinner weezle too. I bet a sweater would compliment it just fine on longer dives...

Careful TJ, that can get you into trouble faster than anything

DR did a pretty good job in copying the Weezle with their Primaloft underwear. Check it out sometime if you get a chance.

Alternatives-
Fleece (Old Navy) $15.00 pullovers, hunting Fleece also works well.

Rumor has it that “Under Armor” has worked very well for some divers in layering but have I have yet to try it.

Coolmax- works very well for sun burns.

Hopefully, better development of micro fibers and reinforcement of those structures will bring us something that is soft but maintains its shape better.

For Fun- Gordon H. out of Canada has adult PJ’s with the feet and rumor has it that he dives in it. Brings new meaning to Winnie the Pooh. :smt023

Also Outdoor World has some polartec "wading" pants which have a nice "fly zipper" for those with pee valves... :)

Gee, I like my Extreme. Ya'll must be hot-blooded.

I've heard that the DUI 400g is very nice but not very durable. For the dives I do I think the Weezle is a better deal.

I have plenty of DUI/Weezle undergarments.....I can give you good advice !!

Get what ever is cheaper. You might not want something too HOT get a DUI 200 or Extreme....if you are still cold in the warm FL waters...then you can buy a cheap fleece to layer (under you main undergarment).

DO NOT BUY 400G or PLUS unless you get cold very easy or water temp is less than 57 !!!!

Yes, Weezle Extreme is the best brand. Not a lot of difference with DUI !!!

Other very nice combination is the DUI 300 Pants and jacket is like to be in the middle of the 200 and the 400G. Also pretty much you do not need any other cloths....I go to the dive site with my undies all the time...These in particular look like a sport suit !!!

Hi Ed. would you say the DUI 200 is most similar to the weezle compact or weezle extreme? Glen

I mentioned that up above, picked up a set a couple of weeks back From Edd at a fantastic price. I love them, nice and toasty but not too hot while gearing up. 8)
