This quote is from the tfn springs page:

"In 2001, funds from the Florida Legislature provided support for a revised edition of Bulletin 31. The new edition (slated for publication in fall 2004) will describe over 400 springs and include information on spring geology, history, water chemistry, and sampling protocols as well as detailed directions to each spring. A compact disk with photographs will accompany the publication."

Does anyone know if this is available yet?

Yes, it's out and impressive (the printed book includes the publication on CD in PDF format). There was a post on CDF previously; let me see if I can find it.

I saw something like you describe: Guide to 400 springs, very thick (2inches) xerocopied and stapled book sold for something like $39 by Ocala National Forest information center in Salt Springs when i did my ridge-walking there 2 weeks ago. It is on west side of route 19 at campground plaza.
