You know, when I first read this BS, over on TDS, I thought that someone had beat me to a really good tasteless joke. Then I find out it is real. What a waste of good sarcasm and bad humor. I could have got a lot of mileage out of Larry's picture, like the stupid snap hook that sticks way out. I could have razzed him about it for months.

To the people that do not have anything better to do than stir up a s#itstorm, what do the letters F.O. mean to you?

I'm sorry guys but a poll on any internet forum is not going to affect the BOD of the CDS. They have no way of even knowing if you are a member or not. Email them. They represent the members. This is a waste of your time. Cindy

Don't need to be a member, potential customers voicing their opinion I think has some value.

If you don't think most, if not all, of the BOD has either already read this poll or will in the next day or two I respectfully disagree. You know as well as I do that they do. We know Kelly and Forrest do, the chairman and the vice chariman.

I also disagree that this poll will have ZERO influence. With the numbers as lop sided as they are currently (90.48% in favor of shipping the book the way it is) how can that not be at least a minor influence?

It does show what potential customers are thinking. Members or not, their money spends just the same as your's or mine.

BTW - I do think an email is a much better way to voice your opinion, you get no argument from me there.

Glad I got mine a couple of days ago - got the last copy on the counter at CEE. The book has great articles and a lot of information. It would be a shame that some judge the content by the cover (although I don't see what the big deal is about the picture).

Hats off to the editors of the book for putting it together. Let's hope we can see more copies on the street soon.

I hate polls on the forum. But this one was begging to be done and I am happy to vote to ship the book. This is the most embarrassing thing the CDS has done that I am aware of. If they trash the first run of the book, though, that will be an even more embarrassing action, and a huge waste of my donated money.

Confused be me I am. How is this now “infamous” book in anyway related to CDS membership fees? If it was, wouldn’t you get it at no cost when you joined the CDS?

You don’t have to be a member to buy the book. So doesn’t the $42 price cover the cost of the book whither you are, or are not, a member of the CDS?

Keep it simple vote with your dollars. If you want it, buy it. If you don’t want it, then don’t buy it. Life’s too short, I am going diving.

Dittos here. Ship it. Maybe this is some crazy marketing scheme. You know how movie stars get divorced and all sometimes just to stay in the headlines to keep their names fresh in the industry? All this controversy might be good for book sales. On the other hand, I think it brings a bit of discredit to the sanctioning agency.

I dont Know what the comotion is about either.It seems you have to go to the deco stop to find out and i dont stop there.So Ill make the assumption that the cover must have a picture of someone or something that everyone doesnt agree with.

Well a little research on cdf and I see whats going on .A picture of Larry Green on the cover.Some people will complain about anything and Ill stay out of the cave diver politics.

I got my book in the mail today.Wife forgot to get the mail yesterday.Thumbing through it looks great.Lots of info,pictures and research went into this for sure.At 306 pages its gonna take a while.Reading makes me sleepy.I got a big post card and Jills sig with mine as well as Larry Green running an OMS reel with DUI drysuit and OMS regs.I wont be running out buying any of those but if Larry likes em thats great.

Oh, man. There was I in FL and I was diving and talking with the contributors to the book, and not having much internet access. But I gotta tell you. I AM PISSED!

I couldda sold my copy with Larry Green on the cover on eBay for hundreds of dollars if the CDS hadn't come to their senses and unrecalled the books. Man!
