Currently, every time someone votes in a poll that thread gets bumped to the top and appears in the new posts function. Is there a way to disable this so that only when new content is added a thread it shows up?

That'd be great! Not sure if it's possible, but it sure is annoying as it is now.

Yeah, we're thinking 3 weeks, 4 days, and 6 hours.

Hmmm...do we need a poll on polls?

I believethat the length ofthe poll should be determined by the number of really stupid, useless and saracstic comments I can make about it, or the number of people that Andrew can piss off .

As example, If I can get 3 or 4 really stupid posts out of thedeal, or Andrew can get both Gary and Ben both pissed off, then maybe its time to lock it.

And Russell, I cannot go for the full 3weeks, 4days and 6hours. That's longer than Britney's first marriage and no poll should go for longer than that.

Sometimes I wish we could open up the Moderators forum to everybody so they could see where the inside jokes originate.

BTW, that's where the "girlfriend" and the "3 weeks, 4 days, and 6 hours" both came from.

We could easily do without polls. Every poll I've read (and participated in) would have been better as a simple running discussion.

How about a poll to determine if we can dump the polls?

Good idea - but just to be sure, let's run a poll on that.

That is one of the options on this poll, isn't? Or should we take a poll regarding how many polls we should have regarding the use of polls as a tool to determine the rules regarding polls...about polls. :smt081

Any one caught creating a poll will be visited by the wookie and shown the error of his or her ways.

Ooops...I've been told that the wookie's contract has not been approved yet...so, in the meantime, all polls will be closed somewhere between three and four weeks after they're created. Posts can still be made, just no more voting (and thus bumping the thread to the top without new content).
