I guess it is amusing to proclaim your thoughts on "gay marriage" by placing a button pin on the gold line in Little River. Now we have a sharp pin piercing the outer layer of the gold line, and compromising the integrity of the inner strands, not once, but twice. People who do single rope technique treat their rope with highest respect because that is a lifeline. I for one consider cave line a life line, and would appreciate it if more respect was shown for this line before sticking more things into this line.

If someone actually put a pin "through" the gold line then that is total bull **** I'm constantly amazed at how low the common denominator has become for some "people who dive in our caves". Note, I did not say "cave divers", a cave diver has respect for the environment and his fellow divers and acts responsibly.

I hope you removed it so that other POS people in our caves don't get the same idea.

Thanks Kelly, I liked the way someone took the line in front of the triangle and routed it into every line trap they could. Every time I dive at Little River some yahoo has monkied with the line and I have to fix it.

Here we have some examples of various line markers you might find in cave counry:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3161/3002874752_5e4c1509de.jpg?v=0

At the top, we find a normal, while line arrow. A personal directional marker, these are very commonly used by divers when making jumps.

To the right, we see a mega cookie. This large of a personal non directional marker is used when a diver has a sense of humour and knows someone in a team that's behind him.

To the left, we have a pin on non directional marker. This type of marker is used when a diver is a piece of crap, or wants to vandalize a cave and the line, and is too immature to care about the repercussions of his actions.

Finally, below that we have a larger directional arrow sometime used to mark distances in popular caves.

Karstdvr: the above pin was pulled from LR on November 1, it was just before the sharp drop. Not sure if it's included in your count or not.
