...er, POLL...

Just bought a Henderson 5mm one piece Hyperstretch...nabbed it of the rack, and it fit CRAZY GOOD! Wrangled a fine price, and I am now doing the Happy Snoopy dance...

NOW, what I need is advice on after-market pockets...I want two, one on each leg, draining, clip ring inside, not too big, but one needs to have room for the spare mask...

ALSO, thoughts on glue, and application hints!

Help Appreciated!
Norm

Send it, carry it, or otherwise get it to Steve Gamble at www.gamblescuba.com and he will take care of your pockets. His service cannot be beat at any price.

By the way, if you did not know, he is in Gainesville...

Another idea, one of my friends recently got a pair of neoprene "shorts" that you basically pull up over the outside of your wetsuit. They have two pockets, one on each leg, that are more than big enough for a backup mask. I'm not sure who makes them though but I'll try to find out.

Try this :

www.fifthd.com/cgi-bin/merchant2/merchant.mv?

I installed these pockets on my wetsuit with great success. I used seal cement and it works great.

I also installed a P-valve from parts I bought at the local hardware store. I have about $3.00 into it and am very happy with it. There are those who pee in their wetsuit, and there are those that, well, don't.

The shorts with the pockets are also listed on this website.

Thanks to ALL for the input...

I've decided to go with pro install from Gamble's (new suit, and it will be the one I use FW until the dreaded dry suit-itus occurs...<g>

Steve uses DUI's, and has both flat and cargo styles...further questions...

Should BOTH be cargo's, or one each; if two differing kinds, which side big/small (I'm right-handed, diving a steelie 95 currently)...Planning the usual amount of cartage; spare mask, spare double ender, Wet Notes, extra spool, small knife)

Opinions?

Having tried a flat pocket before, I would definitely recomend going with a second cargo pocket. The flat pockets will not hold squat.

Recently, on my better dry suit, Steve G put a flat pocket on the front of my left leg and a cargo on the side of my right leg, slightly angled in. Since I sidemount often, I can get to my wetnotes (or dive tables) easier with the flat pocket in front. No tanks or stages in the way. Not much room in the flat pocket for anything else though... I can get lots of 'stuff' in the cargo pocket... all of which is clipped in some way to a bungee. Overall, I'm pleased with the placement of the pockets.

Again, Thanks to ALL for the thoughtful comments...

tj,

You make a good point here I must consider...with the exception of the Wet Notes, presumable anything else needed to nab DURING a Dive will be when the balloon goes up...the notes most often will be needed during normal dive Ops under good conditions...I'll consider a third pocket (flattie) on front thigh...

During my course, LG mentioned putting pockets slightly BACK (towards the tank) of thigh side centerline; comments?

Also, I carry a spare mask...do y'all run a double-ender thru the strap and affix it to the loop in the pocket?
