Dear Cave Photographers,
This is a reminder that the mail-in deadline for the print salon is August 1, and the "carry in" deadline is noon on Saturday, August 9.
If you are planning to enter prints in the 2008 print salon in Florida, please read this. If you know someone who should be entering, please pass this along.
The rules are much the same as those for last year. Please note that you may not put any lettering ON the print. Please do not sign the print, or put the title on the print. That should be put on the matte or on a card. All prints are judged with the name of the photographer covered, so the photographers name must be away from the print, otherwise the print gets covered. Last year I let some prints through, but I will NOT be doing it this year.

If you cannot make it to convention on Saturday, you may consider two alternatives.
a. Mail your print to Candice Leak in Florida. The deadline is August 1, but if you know you can't make it, let me know ASAP and we can make arrangements. I will be doing some pre-convention caving starting July 31, so will be incomunicado.
b. Give your prints to a trustworthy friend who is going to the geology field trip on Sunday. For a list of who is registered on the trip, look at

For a list of folk registered for convention, look at

Again, if your friend cannot make it by noon on Saturday, e-mail me ASAP so I can save space for your work.
Once again, prints will be offered for sale. If you are interested in having your prints offered to cavers who are attending convention, please come to a meeting at the print salon at 10 a.m. on Monday morning to discuss how we can all work co-operatively to achieve this. If you can't make it, but are interested, please contact me.
Please note my request for DIGITAL files of a head-and-shoulders portrait of the photographer. It must be "head and shoulders ONLY" as it will be used quite small on Salon night.
Please feel free to post this message to any caver electronic bulletin board - local, regional or national. You may also forward it to any cave photographer who may be interested in entering.
