OoooH BOY! I've been looking for a new He analyzer since mine died a month ago...

Thanks for the GREAT DEAL! Now that I have my own He analyzer on the way, I won't need Sam anymore ;)

I wonder if anyone gets 15% off a scooter?

Jeff - which one did you decide on?

I went with the Teledyne MixCheq He/O2 Analyzer. I am most familiar with it and really like the dual displays. Very helpful when continuous blending (vs. the Dive Rite having to click the button to see O2 vs He sharing a single display). Only used the expedition combo once -- did not get strong feelings one way or the other on it, but the Teledyne ended up being cheaper after the discount anyways. Like I said before, really sweet deal!

That's the one I'm leaning toward also. I was taking a hard look at the Dive Rite unit but Edd's prices are hard to beat.

One thing I like about the Teledyne is the ability to use plain old alkaline batteries. I tried to replace the rechargeable battery pack in my other unit but the amps required (.76 I think it was) is so little that it's a real specialty item, can't just go to Radio Shack and buy one, dealing with square-C is a pain, they don't even want to talk to you unless your a manufacturer or a distributor.

I have one in front of me right now. It is a nice unit, but we keep it in the original box with the foam otherwise the buttons would tend to get hit and the unit would likely turn on and the batteries would die. We have had the Dive Rite since it came out. Overall, I think we have 3 (now 4) Teledyne's in the group and still only have the one Dive Rite. The flip side is that the button lettering (looks like silk screened) on the Teledynes tends to come off over time whereas the Dive Rite's lettering still looks like it is new. Since we use them enough, it is not a big deal, but that is the only downside I can really think of on them.

Very true

Well now-a-days, it looks like it is not too hard to start-up/call yourself a manufacturer ;)

Best of luck!
