Isn't Piranha in violation of rule#2, or am I missunderstanding the forum rules?

It's the Retail Section, kinda what it's there for. :smt004

Still, this section is only for retail *specials* (see description above). However the phrase "at an outstanding price" seems to qualify.

We are not here to cause any issues within this forum. If you check out our specials we are offering they are some of the best pricing I have seen and we try are very hard to work within the web forums to comply with their rules.

We will be contacting the folks here shortly to do just that please just allow us a little time to get our feet on the ground since starting the company and working very hard to add new products to our website. We posts these deals in hopes of saving the regular diver just like most of us some money. With gas and food prices out of control these days divers need to get a little break when purchasing the everyday dive products. That is what we built this site and product line around.

We do wish to thank the folks that have ordered with us. We believe we offer quality products at a fair price and fast service. Again if we are in voliation please contact us and we will work within the guidelines of this forum.

Cheers
Eric

:-D

Don't worry Eric, so far you have been following all the rules, and everyone's coments only serve to keep your thread on top, and draw attention to your specials.

Ok then, I guess the rule only applies to some people. When I joined this forum, I was told that you had to participate and not just post for sale ads, even if they were in the gear section. This was to keep non productive spammers down.

Here is rule #2: No posting messages intended solely for solicitation

I guess the rules on this forum are selective and don't apply to everybody. :smt102

We added the Retail Section in October 2005. Read the sticky at the main Retail page.

Guys,

Here is a thought I would like to try and you folks be the judge of it. We have a new led light located in weekend specials that is light gray anodized.

We have them at a special price but if you purchase one of these lights during our weekend sale we will take $5.00 for each light sold and donate it to your cave diver's forum. Please make sure you put in the comment box at check out "cave diver forum" so we can tell how much to cut the check for.

I will contact your admin folks to arrange for us to send the check once the weekend is done.

I hope this will show you our good intentions
Eric

In case you haven't noticed, this ISN"T the Gear Exchange section, it is the RETAIL section. The Gear Exchange section is for individuals, this section is for businesses. Not to mention, I see 4 of your shop's ads in here!

I'm not whining....

There's a history. No fewer that 5 manufacturers were made aware of what pirhanna was doing with map pricing. I won't even get into the whole Tobin DSS deal. If ou're not a shop it wont matter to you. Knock yourselves out. Maybe in the future you can all buy your air fills online too, because god knows we don't need local dive shops anymore!

Have a great weekend

Mike,

Sorry you have a problem with us. We are a web based company doing business as any other company into todays market but enough on that.

As for Tobin and Deep Sea Supply well I have worked everything out with Tobin and we are now carrying his bc/drysuit sliders and by next week we will have alot more of his gear for sale.

It sounds like you have a shop or something and are upset? If you have an issue please feel free to contact either Eric or myself and we will be glad to speak with you. If you sell on this forum than do what we offered to this forum and for every sale donate back something to it. We have offered the lights with the $5.00 rebate going back to this forum to support what they are doing and we believe this is a good start.

Sorry about ranting here and this will be the end of this topic. Mike if you have an issue than call use at 302-691-8234 and you and I can deal with this.

Thanks for all your support!
Regards
Randy

Randy,

Actually, I don't have a problem with a Web based business, or with competition in general. IMHO, It's good for the customer. As long as everyone abides by the same rules. Some of us have shops and don't make as much as a solely web based business. We have overhead, insurance, employees and dues that we must account for yearly. This affects how much we can discount products, and is a reason that MAP pricing is in place. With the reduced overhead of a web based business as opposed to a brick and mortar dive shop, there is no reason to sell below MAP, as you make more money right off the bat by not having our expenses.

There are divers out there that don't give a dam about dive shops, and would rather get everything online. They think that shops are only out there to screw them and provide nothing to the industry. To them I say good luck. Where do you think the average Joe will get training? where will the average joe get air? The diver that dives 6 to 8 times a year won't buy his own air system! Without the recreational divers, dive boats will limit their trips or not go out at all. It's already happening with the cost of fuel. I had a nice conversation with Joel at TDL about this very subject, and how much of a hit he's taking with the B-29 trips and the Monitor project.

My point is that by the looks of it NOW, you are selling at MAP, and for that I say thank you. I have no problem with competition, and wish you the best.

Sincerely,

I worked at Lubrication Technology for five years.
I was, among other things in charge of our product in the SCUBA industry.
I am now working for a competitor of LTI. We compound a wide range of PFPE oils/thickened with PTFE. There is a family of products I have put together for Aerospace Lubricants, Inc.

I would like to send several documents to view and would like to send you samples to test and evaluate. I only ask that you post the results of your findings. As I’m sure everyone knows word of mouth is the strongest form
of advertising, just telling others aout the products Is most effective.

TRIBOLUBE 71--- is a linear grease that is the chemical clone to MCG111. This is for dynamic appications

TRIBOLUBE 66 ---is a branched grease that is the chemical clone to MCG129. This is for static applications.

TRIBOLUBE KO² Solvent for the greases to make it easier to clean the product off, as fluorinated oils can be easily removed By a low molecular weight PFPE oil.

TRIBOLUBE EPO² Protecterant for brass is a passivator for surface oxidation, and stops the loss of electrons. This is the cause of corrosion we all see inside our regulators.

If you have any questions and would like to speak with me please do not hesitate to call or e-mail or PM me.

David Lodwick
