I need to find cheap air travel to Merida, Mexico on the Yucatan to dive the cenotes. Also, what time of year would be cheaper to go, like during their off season? Any travel agent suggestions? Thanks everybody

Nothing is cheap going into Merida. Could you fly into Cozumel. It's a lot cheaper and has a lot more scheduling options.
Coz?! How about Cancun, and a bus to Merida. Try one of the vacation airlines, like Vacation Express, Funjet, Apple, Adventure...

As Forrest said, fly into Cancun and take a bus over to Merida. BTW, the last I recall, most of the cenotes in the state of Yucatan (Merida, etc) were deep and access was limited, but that was a looong time ago I guess.

Alot of groups are stopping flights into Cozumel in the off season.
Cancun is an easier way.
If possible call the resort and see if they have a shuttle that runs down to the resort. That way you are with a group that is going to hotels.
When we fly into Cozumel the shuttle in included and we are at the sothern tip of the island.
Just thinking outloud.
When packing- mark anythig out of the blue.
Example- my HID light base goes on the checked bag with the cover from the product manual. Bring batteries they are freaking expensive.
If you would like pricing and options please PM me; my wife does dive travel.

Thanks for the replies everybody! I'm already ahead of where I was yesterday so I appreciate this. Crazyduck you sound like you really have some experience traveling to the Yucatan, and quite frankly we have none at all. Hopefully I'll be getting back in touch with ya. We'll see how the plans go.
Any more general or even arbitrary advice is sorely needed
