I recently was given a DC 600 and have noticed that it has some major lag time from the time I hit the button to the time the shutter actually opens and closes. If I am not as still as a rock, the picture is really fuzzy. Anyone have any suggestions?

If you have the opportunity, pre-focus by half depressing the shutter button. There should be some kind of indication on the camera when its focused(a light, or a beep, or something) and when you press the button the rest of the way, it should take the shot fairly instantaneous.

Thanks for the tip. I tried the half button push and it works great. The amazing thing is that the company couldnt give me that answer. Cave Divers rule!!!!!!!!
On another note, has anyone used an external flash with this camera? If so, which one? I want to get into some cave photography and need all the extra help I can get.

Just so you know, that(half depress to pre-focus) works with just about any digital camera(PnS to dSLRs), not just SeaLifes or even point-n-shoots in general.

I used to use a DC310(I think) w/SeaLife external strobe. It was a fixed output flash w/o TTL, so may be different from what they are selling nowadays.

I'm not sure how flexible the DC600 is with controlling exposure, some prosumer PnS's allow manual exposures, some don't... I'd want to have atleast some control over exposure in a camera rig for UW usage.

I'd heavily recommend picking up a dSLR if you are serious about photography though...
