Hello all.
I about to embark on some cave training in the later part of april. the course i'll be taking is Cavern/Intro/Basic Cave Diver. Was wanting to know if there are any pool execises that one can do to prep for this course . My training up to this point has been in Tec/Wreck diving on the northeast atlanic coast .
All my gear is configured for this type of diving. (ie. large capacity doubles, stage set ups , etc.) Any advice would be greatly apriciated .
Cheers.

If you've been diving doubles and stages on the northeast wrecks (and your buoyancy skills are good),you have no idea how easy cave diving's going to be.

Not much you can do in a pool, but if you can find a shallow, muddy, quarry, you can practice there. Try to find a flat bottom, less that 30ft (10' is better). Practice swimming about a foot above the bottom, without stirring up any silt. Once you can do that, you won't have any trouble cavediving.

I've seen some wreck divers humbled by the caves.

If you really want to get in the pool, you can practice accessing/removing/replacing all your accessories with eyes closed. Could also practice swimming as close to the bottom as you can without touching it.

Enjoy your classes, and even more so, enjoy the beauty of the caves!
