Yea! after years of tinkering, My BP60 (affectionately named "Death on a Stick") is now fully operational! Today was it's second cave dive- 45 minutes at JB, most of it at 90 feet- turned because my OC safety diver didn't want any more deco. Gas consumed? 2.6cf of diluent, 2.1 CF of Oxygen! Gary, i know you've got questions, send them again.

Congratulatons! :clapper

Questions start when I know something - like "What's a BP60?" Post all you got then I'll try to come up with questions! LOL :)

My project is currently still laying in pieces. If I'm lucky I'll have enough parts to start sticking them together in a few weeks.

We're planning on naming ours a FAF : "fire and forget" but we'll have to see what we end up with when the pieces come together in reality.

Backmount (on my sidemount rig) CCR, metered flow- no pics, until I can find someone with a camera down here.

I have seen rchrds CCR and just looking at it is not going to help figure it out :) It isn't the prettiest thing in the world but he was more than excited when he exited the water and had used about 100psi out of an AL80. "J" I have a camera and will be in JB this Sunday afternoon so if you are around give me a ring and we'll snap some pics of your "death on a stick".

Man- talk about timing- I wont be around this coming weekend, but if you happen to be at JB the weekend after, I would be interested!

For those that dont know- the BP60 is an old Biomarine firepack that has been converted for water use- there used to be a number of them around that people were working on, but mostly they fell by the wayside. It has been a lot of fun building the system, as really the only part that gets reused is the counterlung housing and the ADV, but it has only a two hour scrubber, which seriously limits its use (at least for me.) Since i really want something in the 4+ hour range (my exploration dives never seem to be less than 3, and some as long as 7-8. I will continue work on a couple of other breathers that I have in the closet that will hopefully be closer to that target.

There's a good chance I'll be at JB both next weekend and the weekend after if you want some pictures taken. I nearly always bring a quality camera along :)

I dont suppose either of you have underwater cameras? I would love a couple of pics- as I cant really see how it rides when I'm wearing it.

All my UW setups are flooded.... :(

Once I catch up on bills, and pay for a couple other scuba related adventures, I'll be looking to house one of my dSLRs. Nothing for UW usage yet though, just surface shinanigans.

Okay- four hour dive at JB with the BP60 today. I'm getting pretty comfortable with it. It still sucks to swim, but oh well, I scootered today. If you are interested in more detail and a bunch of pictures, check out my post on rebreatherworld:
