I have been doing massive search for new caves in Asia. I am mostly staying focused on caves that can be used for training. If you do a search you can see some of the other blogs of the trips we have made. We are going to make another trip to explore some more virgin caves. Are plan is to lay line, map and if possible put up some signs at the cave entrance. If you would like to find out more information take a look at the blog and get back to me.
For those interested in donating line that we can use as a permanent line would greatly appreciate it. I will add you company logo to sponsors on the blog that is distrubuted around the world. I give the sponsors all the details in information that we can gather from the cave. Over the past few years Asia has started to become another cave diving location to visit. Hope you can join us.

Those are some really tough conditions. I admire your perseverance!

What line are you using? Gold, or 36? And how much line have you run already?

These trips are actually the best trips that I ever participate in. We had a blast and laughed all the way through it. . Some of the caves were a bit hard to get to but a couple you could pull a car right up to the spot. I guess it is luck of the draw on what we do that day. I am hoping to start laying line on the next trip. I am trying to contact some of the cave agencies to see if they would be willing to help sponsor us with some line etc. Where we are going there are quite a few caves in the area where you will have quite a few good choices of what caves you need for training.

36 line is pretty cheap, and probably all you need. I don't know if it's available over there though - but with all the fishing (and therefor netmaking) I'll bet it's available at a local commercial fishing store. While gold line is pretty, it's vast overkill for caves that aren't dived all the time. Most of the lesser known caves have 36 in them in Florida, nd it works really well.

IIRC a box of 12 reels each with over 1000 ft of line on each reel, cost me about $70. I might be wrong, I bought it about a year ago. Is there anyone who's bought 36 more recently in bulk?

I've tossed some money into the CDS kitty for the line fund. I'd be willing to throw in another $100 if that would help you. but I suspect it would be more efficient to send you cash than line, and let you buy the line locally, as shipping it halfway around the world will cost quite a bit.

...of course that would mean putting a CDS logo next to that big ANDI logo on your webpage! :)

Andrew

Sorry for the late reply as I have been traveling to Florida. Finally arrived yesterday morning. What a drag having to sleep in JFK airport for my last leg of the flight. It took almost 43 hours to make it from Bangkok to Florida.
I would be more then happy to put there logo on the site giving them recognition for the sponsorship. If someone is willing to help us out I will always do my best to help them in return. I found it impossible to afford to do all of this exploring and paying for it by myself. The more cave divers we have in the area (at this time the numbers are quite small) but the more caves we will be able to dive and explore in the future. This location I am exploring has great potential for more exploring and also training. I have also given consideration of opening a small shop in this area to make it more convenient for cave divers. It looks like I will be making a couple more trips this coming year and hopefully be able to get alot of work done there.
If you are interested in making a contribution for this cause please feel free to email me at bruce_konefe@yahoo.com

I got your message but no return number. Please keep trying, and if possible leave a number.

While you're here talk to the stores about getting a box of 36 line. it really isn't that expensive - in fact your biggest problem will probably be luggage weight constraints.

Andrew
