A post on TDS made me think it would be useful if cave country locals and frequent visitors would post a listing of good places to eat.
My favorites, in no particular order:
Two Sisters Barbecue in Mayo
The white trailer barbecue place by the school in Mayo (that was in Luraville for a while
this fall - I don't know their name.) Wonderful ribs!
Ken's Barbecue by Publix in Live Oak
La Reyna Mexican in Live Oak
Brown Lantern in Live Oak
Xin Ming Chinese in Live Oak
Dive Outpost when Cathy's cooking!
Who's got some to add? We're headed for Luraville in 35 days and I'm hungry!

The Gathering in Branford
Floyd's in High Springs
Luraville Store (as soon as the deli reopens!)
And I second your vote on Two Sisters!

Conestoga's in Alachua (damn good burgers, in town, closed on Sunday's, very busy on Friday/Sat)
Kazbors Grills in Alucha west of 75 (good wings, convenient location)
DeepSea

Goose Nest (between Branford and F. White)...

Newberry Backyard BBQ, on SR26 in Newberry, just W of SR27 (about 20 min. S. of High Springs on SR27). Personally, I think it beats the snot out of Two Sisters in Mayo.
First post on CDF - lurking for years, but couldn't resist the post - a subject near/dear to my heart!

Goose Nest (between Branford and F. White)...
I've passed by that place a hundred times or more, but never knew anyone who ate there. What kind of food?

I second the Brown Lantern in Live Oak. Great fried oysters and the waitresses are easy on the eyes.
Suwannee River Cove just outside of Branford has good fried catfish and the only place in that town (that I know of) where you can order beer with your meal.
I also like Cedar River Seafood in Lake City. Cheese grits you can cut with a knife!! Mmmmmmmmmmmm!!
In High Springs, Floyd's Diner is bonzer!........which I think means good ;-)

Goose Nest (between Branford and F. White)...
Goose Nest sold and closed down for a while during the holidays. They just reopened yesterday [Wednesday 1-9] under new owners/management.
The bad news is, they are not open for breakfast yet, although they will be soon on Saturday and Sundays only I'm told. Too bad, it was a good spot to stop on the way to Ginnie for a breakfast special.
Me and my shooting buddies ate there today after our match. Got there at 10:45AM and they made us wait until 11:00 to open.
Appetizers, hot/grilled sandwiches, soup, dinner type plated meals.
I am glad to hear the Suwannee River Cove is open again. How about the other fish place, just off US129, south of US27 on the Santa Fe? Sandy point, I think is the name.
I also heard the boarding house on 51 in Mayo is open again. Big fancy house, half a block north of US27.

I haven't been there in several weeks. I understand they have self-serve biscuits & gravy.
You coming back up?

In Suwannee Democrat/local paper December 2007
Live Oak will soon have two new places to eat. Cowboy's Barbecue will be moving into the old Robinson's restaurant located beside the railroad tracks on U.S. 129 North. Cowboy's will offer good country barbecue with all the fixings. You can either take your food with you or sit at one of the picnic tables located outside the building.
The old R. L.'s Steakhouse will soon be the Bulldog Endzone.
Bulldog Endzone will offer a varied menu with fresh mullet on Thursdays. You can enjoy the atmosphere inside the restaurant in either the sports bar or dining area, or you can dine outdoors.
Mayo has a Subway beside the Family Dollar store on Highway 27 that open November 2007.
It's very nice and good food.

Luraville store is selling biscuits this morning, and they're yummy! They also had biscuits and gravy. Pizza for lunch, they tell me. It's mostly self-serve deli-style, but the biscuits are THE biscuits!
