I read an article in our local paper (Winter Haven), and Swiftmud reported there were several sinkholes that opened up on the bottom of Peace River between Bartow and Ft. Meade. They said alot of water was going into them. Obviously a siphon condition, but might be worth checking out.

I have a call in to someone at Swiftmud, and as soon as I hear something, I will post it. Also, I live 20 min. away, and have a boat.

That can't be more than 15 or so miles of river....might be worth a few hours to go scout it out.

I'd be more than happy to go scout it out with ya...but I'm leaving town tomorrow morning and won't be back until Jan 3rd, maybe Jan 5th. If you end up waiting until then, count me in.

E-mail me when you get back, and I will let you know what days off I have. We both have to same weekend off, and I get one weekday off each week. Merry Xmas!

Will do. I work, essentially, a week on week off schedule...so I'm gone for a week, then home for a week...which means I'm usually available any weekday when I'm off. I'll email you when I know for sure what date I will be home.
