I suspect item #220184286386 is a scam. He only wants $2,200 for a UV-18. The description was cut/pasted from the SS website, and the seller insists on "immediate payment". This is new to me, it means that if you bid, you have to pay before you win. I think this just opens eBay up to more fraud. BEWARE.

FWIW, I bid the "buy now" price, and nothing changed on the ad. I was hopping to block the sale, but no such luck.

Unless it is a hijacked account, he has sold other SCUBA related items.

Immediate payment only applies to "buy it now", and requires you to have a paypal account. Once you buy it now, you have won it.

It keeps scammers from bidding on your item and not paying, as it stays up on auction until the transacion is complete.

I suspect that is the case, since he only has one item on there right now. Why would someone that has sold so much dive gear put such a low "buy it now" price on a UV-18?

I've been emailing back and forth with Mike and I'm convinced that it's legit. I've also made him aware of this thread, so maybe he'll register on the CDF. That said, I think at this point I have the high bid!

Alas, an hour goes by and I'm outbid..... ;)

Just wanted y'all to know that I ended up buying this scooter off Ebay from Mike.

While I'll admit I was a tad nervous, I received it today and couldn't be happier! It's in great shape, the batteries have a 92% burn and I even received the Interactor charger with it..... :)

Huh... I actually went to his apartment, Forrest asked me to. Seemed like a nice guy. The bushing was a bit noisy - is that OK now?
