Hey guy's I'm not one to pass on chain mail be this is for real and can do some real good......

As you may recall Sumter Regional Hospital (Americus, GA) was hit by a tornado on March 1 of this year and was totally destroyed. (This is Kelly's home town)

The request is this; Siemens Medical Equipment is holding a contest where a 1.5T MRI magnet will be given to the most deserving community hospital. The criteria for this award are based on the hospital's 2 minute video, its content, and the number of votes received. Considering the video was created by our employees, the winning facility will be selected by the number of on-line votes cast by its employees, community citizens, and friends. Our request is simple, please view our 2 minute video and cast your vote. We know our video content is best however we need your vote to convince Siemens of this fact. You can cast one vote per day per IPO address so please vote daily and encourage your employees and friends to vote.

Please take the time to look and vote for Sumter Regional's video. Please pass this along to all your contacts.

In order to cast your vote you must view our 2 minute video, "Blown Away". After your first vote you can just simply visit the site and vote daily. To cast your daily vote click on the web address www.winanmri.com

It's an interesting video with security camera footage during the storm. Knowing the helpful nature of the people on this board I thought I'd post the information here. You can vote daily.

Thanks

Thanks for posting this -- I rarely respond to unsolicited email -- but accessed the site, viewed the video, voted... and will vote again.
Most worthwhile thing I've done on the computer all day...

Outstanding news -- congratulations. Nice way to start the new year!
I'll let the people at Siemens know that their program was noticed here in Florida.
We're currently in the market to buy a couple of MR platforms, and it's nice to see a company helping out communities that need some assistance.
Have fun with your new "toy",
John

This is wonderful news!!!

I spent New Years Eve in Americus and was finally able to witness the derivation caused to the hospital; it is amazing that this community remains without a hospital though still provides medical care for its citizens thorough a series of portable construction site type buildings. I can’t think of any health care facility in the country that is more deserving of this MRI than Sumter Regional.

Thanks to all you voted to help these guys out.

Mark

We by far had the most votes, but one of the rules was you had to have a permenant facility ready to take delivery in 6 months. We will have an interrim hospital, but a new hospital won't be ready until 2010-so the MRI was given to second place. But,in a cool move by Siemens corporation, they donated us an MRI when our hospital is ready.
