hey fellas I am once again touring so I thought I'd keep in touch with my cave friends. I arrived in San Fran last week and had a rough load in but now we are up and running. I am off this Monday and booked a guided dive of Monterey Bay with Bamboo reef scuba. i want to photograph and draw the reefs specially the anemones. I did this about two years ago and did some cool paintings from them. I got my Nomad which I figure will get me though anything. I am here in Sf till Dec 9 so if any there are any cavers hout here look me up for diving.
miss Y'all

Michael,
I am about 10 hours away from Monterey (Winnemucca, NV). I might make it over sometime during the period you are going to be there.
If you would like to do Tahoe on a weekend that might be a possibility.

Sounds good but I will have shows Saturdays and Sundays and planning on diving Mondays and Tuesdays. I got plenty of room in the loft I am renting in SF.

Those are some really cool paintings, do you do your work from photos or just from memory? Do you start to sketch it out while you are underwater?

Michael is one of the best artist that I have ever had the privledge to view his artwork. He has done the design for our workshop again this next year. I am glad that he is my friend and dive buddy!

i do the orginal drawings on Mylar drafting paper taped to a plexi slate. Using a graphite caryon. I also use my dital camera to shoot montages of a formation. Sometimes shooting 60 shots 2 feet apart then lacing together on my computer. This way one dive trip can yeild a dozen drawings. I wrote an article about doing for UWS about two years ago. I am sure its on file somewhere. If not I can send a word version.

I have a great drawing of Michael's drawing of Little Devils' hanging in my house. He does excellent work for sure!!!

Yes even I must say that MAG has not just some great stuff but some awsome stuff. Not that I have seen his work in the differant stages but I also have a signed numbered print in my house of Roubidoux. He has done some spectaular work of Cannon Ball and Roubidoux from up here. That man is not only a good diver but I think he is a great artist that I am proud to call a buddy and think one day he will go far and all his stuf will be worth more then I have paid. Not only can he do some great caves but also of some wrecks and just about anything that he likes to scketch, paint or just to have fun.
I highly recomend his work. Not only a great price but a great peice of work.
