It would have been nice for the NACD to block some rooms out or at least negotiate a rate that is "reasonable".
$179/night at the Paramount is steep...
Just a thought.

I was planning on going until I found out that there was a UF Football game that day, and UF is right across the street from the hotel.
There’s gona be way to many Gators in the area for me

The NACD did pick a Gator home game weekend. Believe it or not it was the lesser of evils with other nearby weekends and other events. We did negotiate an NACD price for the hotel rooms and we reserved 20 rooms for the event but only 3 people signed up in advance and we had to release the rooms or risk having to pay for them. Despite the potential of being overrun by drunk college fans and expensive hotel rooms on site I’m hoping that many of you will still be able to find affordable nearby lodging and attend the seminar – we really have a great lineup on Saturday and Sunday has the 1st CCR Summit which should prove to be a very interesting event.
Oh and by the way our pre-registration numbers are at an all-time high this far out from the event so some of you fine folks are going to be there (hopefully not sleeping in your cars!).

Any chance a few folks might volunteer to do an unofficial sidemount clinic on Sunday ? Not everyone is going to the dark side (rebreather). I just got a SM rig and could use some pointers from experienced sidemounters.
I got a room in HS and will be attending the conf on Sat. with some folks from South Florida. Planning to be a Ginnie on Friday night. Drinking for sure but hopefully preceded by some diving if I can get out of work early !

....a freaking Gators game? It's going to be insanity.
What were the other events/weekends...just out of curiosity?

Hey all,
I have been lazy in getting accomadations for Friday night in the Ginnie area. Before I make an effort, does anyone have extra room in a tent or an extra bed in a room. I 'll be happy to split the cost of a room or campsite.
Thanks.

Saturday there will be an Italian buffet available at the hotel. This is a lot better than scampering across the road to Taco Bell. Tickets for the buffet will be available in the morning only as we have to tell the hotel how many people are eating. Please buy your lunch tickets early.

Just to confirm, this is a lunch buffet on Friday? Are there activities other than the social planned on Friday?

Took a few pictures of the NACD Social at Ginnie Springs...
It was cold outside... Nice fire though... That's where everyone hung out (when not eating).
