Kelly, what is the sign-in procedure? Do we still go to the Sheriff's Office first, or do we just show up at the park?

Cindy, did you get that date for the UWS calendar? :D

Those details are being worked out,but more likely it will be like last time where you go directly to the park

Got it! The members manual is at the printer, I can't wait! I'll have to miss this social though. I'm signed up for the American Heart Asc. Heart Walk that day. Somebody take pictures for me. Thanks, Cindy :)

So... I've never been to one of these and I've never been to Jackson Blue either. Will we be able to get a dive or two in? Anyone available to buddy up?

Rick

Rick,
The normal procedure for diving J.B. is to get on file at the Jackson Co. Sheriff's office and pay a daily or annual permit fee. I don't know exactly what the deal will be for diving on Saturday. I have an annual pass so it's not a problem. There should be plenty of folks there to buddy up with.
J.B. is a shining star of north Florida.
See you there!
Bless,
Kenny P.

There will be no fee for diving on Saturday. Just come directly to the park versus going to the Sheriff's office

Bring your daughter along. It is a family affair. Don't have to check in at the Sheriff's office so no big deal.
See you all there.

One thing always happens when I go to these things: people that I don't know talk to me, and then later on the internet tell me it was them. I have my picture on my avatar, so they know it's me. So let's make it a point to identify ourselves not just by name, but also by screen name, when we meet at the socials. (When I found out who OFG-1 was, I realized I had met him several times before.)

Also, this weekend is a double-duty trip to Florida - cave diving and kitesurfing, so my mother will probably be with me (she wants to meet some more of those crazy cave divers), so that means I'll probably have the Ginnie puppy along. Although dogs aren't allowed when the park is open, I've seen them there during the off-season so many times that I don't think there will be a problem. (She'll be on a leash at all times.) But if there's any problem at all, I'll just take her up to Edd's and tie her up in the yard - Stacy offered to dogsit. :D

Well it was a beautiful day at JB.The cavern and cave is huge and gorgeous.Plenty of food right off the grill and cold drinks.Sludge I appreciate the private tour.I think more people planned to go than came,I know of a few myself, but that just increased the odds of me winning a Madison Blue map, which I really wanted. Thanks to Edd at Cave Adventures for feeding us,and good to see Kelly Jessop again .I even learned a few things about my DR computer from Lamar Hires.I gave up a planned bow hunt with other buds to go with the family and glad I went.

I agree. Beautiful weather, site, and people. Always a winning combination. Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet. It was great seeing old friendsa and meeting a few new folks.
Kudos to Edd and all involved in getting it together. I enjoyed Lamar Hires sidemount clinic. He is always willing to put on a show and take time out to get into details. I went in with a buddy and dove my Nomad rig for the first time, after Lamar's clinic. It was an awesome experience and something I see getting more into, as I age, not so gracefully :?

Hell, I didn't even know they were giving out raffle tickets until someone told me they were about to start the raffle - LOL. I still had a great time, enjoyed meeting more divers, and getting to hang out with others(including my instructor, Kenny P! - LOL) I haven't seen in awhile.

Mat,
George was happy. He went home with a raffle ticket win for a new T-shirt. He enjoyed the fellowship with everyone too, as did I. I'm glad I burned the day of vacation to attend. Diving was fun too :-D
Good to see you again!
