Hi,

for a friend in Germany I'm looking for information on O-Rings

He would like to know the
size (inside, outside diameter, thickness, hardness , shorelevel (durometer ?)) of the american o-ring between tank and valve AND
the same for the 3/4" NPSM threads on the valves.

(Hope it makes sense, as I have to translate it)

Any help, information or link is appreciated

Thank you

ROFL.

Look over at www.air-oil.com in the "buy O-rings" tab.

They have an O-ring sizing table with the various specs.

The standard 3/4" NPSM thread O-ring is a 2-214.

According to their table, that's 1" ID, by 1-1/4" OD, by 1/8" C/S nominal, and actuals are 0.984" ID and .139" C/S.

I use a 70 duro EPDM in that application, but some use a 90. Its actually kind of an abusive use, since the neck ring is used as a crush seal and not really as a "traditional" O-ring.

YMMV and all that....

Thanks Genesis,

good information. especially this website was what I was looking for and with
the number 214 I can go on looking.

I also heard that a Genesis 100 usually uses a smaller o-ring than other tanks.

Thanks again

safe diving and all the other stuff :)

Yes, the Genesis HP tanks (and older PST HP series) use a smaller neck thread (7/8" UNF - which ironically is smaller than 3/4" NPSM!) and thus a different tank O-ring size. I don't have any of those tanks, and don't keep those O-rings around as a consequence....

Genesis,
this really could be fun if I wouldn't have to earn money

Searching thru google to find differences between UNF and ....

I found this website. Very good article
