Little River Arrows

Anybody know the story on all the white arrows in the Serpentine Tunnel upstream of the Harper Tunnel? It seemed like there was a blank white arrow every 10 to 20 feet when I dove there last Sunday.

They didn't look well placed for surveying, nor did they appear to mark any obvious features. Maybe a prank? I got a good chuckle out of it.

The white arrows that are marked with distance were put in after the relineing some arrows were replaced during the relining to replace the old discolored and different types of arrows so there maybe too many in some areas put there is a survey project going on right now so please be paticent and some will be removed as the project goes on. Glad you got a good laugh at the hard work of others.
