I posted a few photo's from Ginne of Gary H and ARY from the last couple of weeks dives. I missed the master card moment when ARY figured out why John L told him trimming was needed when he installed the Pee Valve. The batteries were dead at the time but I was laughing so hard at him jumping around I just wish I could have captured it.

Then of course ARY got his revenge when I had the same problem to a lesser degree. That and when he got out of the water and talked about how warm and dry he was in his new dry suit while I was freezing in my wet suits. ( I not sure how cold it was 1/10 but as the saying goes it was cold enough ) At least I had two wet suits in the car so at least I started out warm on the second dive.

I had taken photos for awhile and I started having issues with the camera controls. ARY was holding a pose sitting back in the rock out cropping and I could not get one of the control to unlock. I figured out the batteries had died and indicated to ARY by pointing to the camera and giving the kill sign. I wanted him to know I was done but he got the wrong impression. ARY must have set the 10 yard swim record with his response that I was out of air. He did not see me when I first pointed to the camera. We got a laugh out of it after the dive since we had agreed we practice some skills sometimes during the dive.

Gary and I did the Bats so I took a couple of shots there and along the way. On the way out we come up through the eye. There is a photo of the eye where the sun light was dancing on the floor in the cavern. It was really special and I really wanted to capture its beauty but I had trouble turning the flash off. So its not the best photo and it really does not do that moment justice

ARY and Gary thanks for putting up with me while carrying the camera and watching out for my ass. I really appriciate both of you and enjoy sharing the joys and wonders of cave diving.

Ray Eccleston came up to do some shots with his new camera and I posed in sidemount and backmount in the cavern areas. He's got a really nice camera and has been at this a lot longer than I have. The camera setup he has is a D200 in an Ikalike housing with a fisheye lens and one D123 strobe. Its new to him and he still getting adjusted to it but it a really nice camera. Four of his shots are on my web site listed on the first post pf ths thread.

I do have a question. Is anyone on the list able to machine fine threads on a Ion Lens? Or know the best place to get a replacement ring for the threads. I've aquired a WA lens with a small amount of messed up threads I need fixing. I'd like to do it as inexpensive as possible. While I will not get the fish eye effect it will help me out with my shots and even more so when I get a strobe.

Folks
I added a few more photo's since the last set. This time with a WA ( I got it fixed) and a strobe Norm let me borrow for a little while. Thanks Norm. Also want to thank ARY, Stephen, and Guy for allowing me to regularly blind them with lots of flashes as I learn how to use the setup. Congratulations to Stephen for passing cavern. ARY for diving deep mix in Ginnie at extreme cost for short dive that ended up as deco dive due to all the photo's and Guy for taking me to places off the beaten path and allowing me to take photo's in those beautiful places.

PS: Congratulations to Guy and his GF Amy for getting into the finals on a photo competition. Top 20 photo's of 29,000 submitted on Conde Nast Traveler Magazine. Top prize is 20K trip, but Guys already won one prize and gets his photo in the magazine.
