Why was the Arrow on the Merry-Go-Round branch of the 2nd T at little river turned around? It used to look like this:

But someone has changed it so it now looks like this:

Was this done to prevent confusion coming to this T in a siltout and finding two arrows pointing different passages as the quickest route to exit? According to the maps I have seen, the Merry-Go-Round tunnel is a little bit shorter than the Serpentine (Although only by like 10'), shouldn't that passage be the one with the arrow on it pointing out since it is the quickest route to the exit?

I don't much care, the only marker I follow at the Ts are my own, but I was curious as to the reasoning behind this change...

That's stupid. I'd rather exit the Merry-Go-'Round okaying the line than Serpentine. It's a few feet longer, but much straighter, and the line placement is much better.

If there isn't an official line committee, I say someone should change it back.

I think Larry Green was part of the last line change so you might want to give him a call. Not sure if he had anything to do with the line arrows though.

Richard Hicks is heading a project to reline and survey Little River. Unfortunately, many of the survey and distance arrows have been removed by someone.

For what it's worth, the dome room is actually 1,400' where it used to be recorded as 2,000'. The mesaurements were done with a tape vs. knotted line.

As far as the directional arrows, not sure about the chnage.
