View Full Version : Sartek vs Green Force

Anyone have any thoughts? I dont like any of the DR lights much, even though they are good priced. Its between these two, and I hear nothing but good thigns about Sartek, and not much about Green Force, other than they are indestructible. Are the Sartek indestructible too? Any and all input on these two (and only these two) brands would be very helpful.

I have had a Sartek for over 5 years, and it is very tough.

Just to throw this in Salvo High Springs, Fl. Anyway, My buddy Roger had a problem with his Sartek and got turned around very fast. I have no info on Greenforce repairs. Just based on this Sartek is in the lead.
If you don't have the DIY spirit then Salvo is my first, sartek second and DR and close third.

Haha, I do have the DIY spirit, but the spirit isnt as talented as I wished for, so that is why I am going with a reliable HID until I get my 50 W halogen perfect. Also, thanks for the input!

If you want to go that route there are several folks on this and TDS boards that probably have H1/2 or MR16 type heads laying around. I think you just need to ask. There is no reason to mess around with a Maglight

You can buy Halogen light heads, or whole lights, for next to nothing. In fact, I have a few that I might even give away.

I still have them :)

My choice is the Green Force and here is why. You can choose from a halogen to LED to HID and confirgure with different battery packs based on the type of diving you are doing.

If you are on a trip and you have a problem you just change out a lighthead and finish your weekend and you didn't lose the whole weekend. I've been on trips and lost many of dives and weekends night dives because of this problem. Also consider that what type of diving you are doing today may not be the same as 2, 3 or more years from now and you would only need to change your lighthead or battery pack based on your needs..

The reel key is flexibility and the Green Force beats any system hands down. Joel and I use them and with the way we treat gear they have stood the test of time.
