First----Great New Look!!!!! I like it!!!! Now my question,--- after spending the weekend diving out of Cave Adventures, a local was telling me of a cave system on the bank of the Chipola River, ( i hope the spelling is right). This cave is suppose to be down river of the dam that forms the Merrit Mill Pond. Anyone know about this? :?: :D

the other caves in the pond : Hole in the Wall and Twin Caves? No-----She was saying it was on the bank of the river----the river where they do the tubing. I took it to be on the other side of Route 90, down from the dam that forms the pond.(I was they guy in the other pontoon, while you where at Hole In The Wall)----Oh ---And I must say Thanks to the people who built the docks!!!!! :D

The chipola is a river through karst like the santa fe and there are a number of limestoine features from up by the alabama border to down by the highway 20 bridge...spring lake has a bunch of features and there's even some dry cave just south of the hw 90 bridge. Nothing as spectacular as the mill pond stuff based on what i have read, heard and observed. Bill H.

Anything on a navigable waterway can't be "off limits".

If you have to set foot on someone's land, that's a different matter.

Best bet if you want to find things like this is to get 'ye a boat (or find someone with one) that has GOOD depth sounding equipment on board, and go have a peek or three. There are a bunch of us with boats that fit that description.....

I think this is the system they call the "Bat Cave" Its in that location.
A couple years ago Scott H went in there to do a recovery of an OW diver
But it turned into a rescue. The rescue made the national news and they did an interview with Scott.
