Well,
Telford is diveable (in my opinion). I wouldn't take any cave divers on there first dive after training in there right now though. I was definitely the first one in there since the floods started in September :D . I would call the viz 10-12 feet and the flow...wheeew the flow!. You can get out of it in the bends in the cave and it's not bad at all.
As I went through I was cleaning the line of debris and throwing twigs and branches over my shoulder into the flow to blow out. The line was buried under 6-8 inches of sand in a couple places, I pulled it out as I went along.
I forgot my primary reel back at the van (stuuuuupid) :smt021 so I used ONE OF TWO safety reels that I carry to tie in. I got to where the line was under around a foot or foot and a half of sand/mud/leaves/glass and tried to dig it out. As fast as I dug it filled back in. I could not see the other end of the line so I was going to tie in and pickup the line on the other side but alas only one reel left and I obviously wasn’t using that one <G>.
All of this was BEFORE the first sink. I had to turn due to lack of spools before I even made it to Telford sink :( .
Tomorrow, bringing more spools and we will see where I get.
