I am looking at moving up to these from Faber LP 85's. I'm not getting rid of my fabers...glad I chose them as a first set of doubles...but need a bigger tank for longer cave dives. I have dove PST 104's and found them about as much as my classic wing could float and would like to stay as close to my 85's in characteristics as possible. The worthingtons are .75' wider and a couple pounds more negative each, which I think is all I can ask for. I really don't want the weight of the PST's. I know when the Worthingtons first came out they were not hot dipped galvanized. However, everyone is advertising these as HDG. Have they gone to HDG?
Anybody hate their Worthington 108's? Any reason to not buy these?
yes I have done a board search but most posts were when Worthington first came out.
Thanks,
CJ
Most of the new ones we have gotten in are rusted. New.
I'd buy a used Pressed Steel before I'd buy a new Worthington, even if the price were the same.

How many are we talking about here? 10's or 100's?

Russell When was the last time you got worthingtons? Scuba Diversions in Longwood just got like 10 cylinders two or three weeks ago. The first thing I did was check the inside for any type of rust, since I had heard theis befor. Not only were they perfect, spotlessly clean, the caps have a desicant in them to keep the cylinders dry.

Good point. It's been over a month. I'm sure they had so many complaints they have gotten their act together.
But consider this (not that my opinion holds a whole lot of validity): since I work in a dive shop and get stuff at dealer cost, when my cylinders need a hydro, I get them done and sell them for however much it will cost me to replace them with new ones. That way my cylinders are always less than five years old.
I have two sets of PST LP80s and two sets of PST LP95s due for hydro this summer. Since we can't get Pressed Steel at this time, I'm going to hang on to them until we can. Then I'll get E7-100s and E7-119s (the same tanks as LP80s and LP95s).
