Hey guys/gals,

Ive used Faber 85's and really love them, and I know that Worthingtons are about an inch shorted and .25in fatter. Has anyone here dove a set of both? I want to know if its a noticeble difference for both sidemount and back mount.

Thanks!

Better check your source....as I recall(but I could be wrong), the Faber and Worthington LP80's are the same diameter. The OMS 85's, which are made by Faber, are .25" thinner and about 2" taller. I don't think the OMS 85's are made anymore, though.

Thinner/taller than Worthingtons? or than other (white) Fabers?

The Fabers are 1.3" taller and 3 lbs lighter than the Worthingtons according to Joel's chart at TDL - he sells both so I'd guess his chart is fairly accurate.

I think Joel's chart is off on the worthingtons. I looked at the worthington distributor sites and they say the worthingtons are 7.25. I have both worthington and faber tanks here but dont' think I can get an accurate diameter with the round bottoms.

Not sure if it would help but would pictures of doubles of both set up together help you any?

dont' think I can get an accurate diameter with the round bottoms.

If you take a seamstress tape measure (one made out of cloth that does not stretch) and wrap it around the tank to get a measure of its "circumference" then divide that number of inches by 3.14 (pi) you will get a very accurate measurement of tank diameter. Try it - it really works...but don't expect a normal metal tape measure to work 100% (it will tend to measure big) since the metal tapes are curved and will not lay flat when wrapped around the tank, although there are some flat metal tape measures that will work (the little cheapo ones). The key things are for the tape measure to be flat and to divide the distance around the tank by pi.

Distance around the tank = 3.14 X Tank Diameter
