My little line arrows never show up as red anymore and so I never know if there are any new posts.

Try clearing your cookie files.

Go to Tools in internet explorer
click on internet options
click on delete cookies & ok

Then click on delete files
check the delete all offline files box then click yes

close browser then log in again and see if it works.

You might also try clearing your Temporary Internet Files:

Go to Tools in Internet Explorer
Click on Internet Options
Click on Delete Files
Click OK

Have you had your color vision checked? :-D

Sorry, couldn't resist...you've already gotten TWO good posts, so there had to be at least one smartass one.

My line arrows never show up as red anymore either so I cleared all my cookies and my caches and al my temporary internet files.

Now my line arrows never show up as red AND I can't auto login anymore.

Despite this I'm on 2 other phpBB boards that work fine both before and after the "flush" (once I re-loged in to them after clearing all my cookies that is).

I noticed the arrows seemed to have stopped working about the time the clocks should have been set back and haven't worked hardly at all since.

I am also noticing the problem. The arrows work for me 95% of the time on this forum. The Webmasters are looking into the problem.

Clearing your temp files could have messed up your auto login. You probably need to reset it.

Well, same thing happened to me that happened to Gary. Nothing shows up red and can't auto log-in. Hmmmmm

Sorry that my suggestion didn't work! I tried it and it worked for me after I loged out, closed the browser and logged back in. I talked to TJ last night about the problem and I informed the other Moderators. Hopefully, we will get an answer sometime soon.

My original issues are back as well. Tried resetting the pop ups blocker but that doesn't seem to want to work twice. Cleared my cache and now the auto loggin is not functioning. I am running Norton Internet security 2005, could that be causing any problems? My auto complete features are working so all I need do each time is click the log in button, but before I was logged in as soon as I opened the forum page.

There are 5,000,000 pages (not really but it seems like it), on the web about debugging the cookie issues. Give the webmaster and me a few days to sort through it, to figure out the solution.... I believe we can fix it on our end...

Shouldn't be....I'm running the same thing, with pop up blocker enabled...and no problems here. I use many different websites with auto login, and they're all working fine...and all showing new posts correctly.

Thanks mike. I just recently installed the upgrade so I thought it best to rule that out as a possibility. I have pop ups blocked but then allow them for this site. I have not encountered any problems with other sites either, I guess that's the price we pay for enhancement. I have faith in TJ and I'm sure they'll get this working before too long. If not, well me and the cane are always at the ready to beat him about the head

I think it's about time we give you a wheelchair that you can't lift...otherwise the dive sites will never be safe...until then, I'll come ready to defend myself... :smt066

I'd just end up mounting a 20mm canon on it

The forum software was upgraded (thanks TJ). Is anyone still noticing the problem?

Yep :( It does register new posts that appear while I'm logged in but nothing else :?

See if you are logging into "cavediver.net" or "cavediver.info".

I think if you log into "info" you get transfered over to "net" and some information gets lost in the transfer. Part of the fix for me was just to make sure my initial loging was to "cavediver.net".

That and a recent upgrade to the phpBB software and the board is working again for me fine.

Is the auto login working again? The auto login option should appear at the bottom of the following page: http://cavediver.net/phpbb2/index.php if you aren't logged in. The option should also show-up when you click on “Log in” on the same page.

I think you may have found the solution Gary. I was being logged in via the .info site. Just changed to go through the .net site and the auto login is now working for me. I'll check back later to see if new posts appear. Thanks for passing along the info.

I'm hesitant to report this (last time I said it was working correctly it stopped doing so) but I think Gary hit the nail on the head. Since making the change that he suggested everything has been working as it should 8) The down side of course is that I was really looking forward to giving TJ a good thrashing with my cane

Thanks for the assist Gary.
