It seems that recently many manufacters have stopped making LP tanks or due to a new DOT exemption (DOT E-13488) that they are stamping their tanks with a higher working pressure (3442psi). It short does this mean that these tanks no longer have the benefit of a cave fill since there working pressure isn't a low pressure rating of 2400 psi. One company in particular that was know for its 104 s no longer manufacters it and there are few alternatives. Can anyone give me a company name that manufacters LP tanks with similar bouyancy characteristics.
Cheers,

The new mid-pressure cylinders are essentially the same size as the older lp cylinders that they are replacing. The higher rating means that you can now get a decent fill at shops outside of cave country. The lp 104 was replaced by the E8-130. Both of these will yield similar volume (cuft) at the similar pressures, only the later does not require an overfill to achieve the higher yield. Bouyancy characteristics are not that far off, with the newer cylinders being slightly lighter and less negative (another good thing.)
