So all those years that I've been too cheap to buy bottled water and drank the overchlorinated city water might of paid off?

Back in the early 90's I worked for an outpatient chemotherapy clinic. We didn't give our patients tap water for the very reasons cited in the article. We gave them bottled distilled water to drink and made any food or fruit drinks for them out of the same.

A lot of the bottled water you buy today is nothing more than plain old tap water. City of Houston was selling bottled water straight out of the line going to houses a few years back.

That's why it was distilled water and not tap water or regular bottled water.
