Can't view pictures sometimes

I access the Forum from MANY different locations (nine different schools, and bunches of IP addresses), and I always log in. I have access to everything, including the Moderators sections, but sometimes I can't view images. I click on one and it says, "You must be a registered user to view images."

But sometimes I can view them.

Any idea why I cannot get to the photo section after I log in? I keep getting sent back to login screen. This seems to be an intermittent problem--sometime I get in, sometimes I don't.
I occasionally also have this same problem. It started happening after we restricted the Photo Gallery to registered users only (because the site started to crawl when lots of guests were using the slideshow feature).
