I'm in the market for my first set of regs for doubles. Has anyone tried Salvo's, know how they compare to Apeks and DR, and know who really makes them?

Thanks,
Dave

The SR2 1st stage at first glance looks just like the old DR RG1205 1st stage and actually comes from the same OEM BUT IT IS NOT THE SAME. DR replaces several OEM parts with their own for quality and performance reasons.... these parts are DR's and DR's alone - the OEM can not put them in any regs for anyone else.

That Unbalanced 2nd stage (SRS) is also the old DR RG1210 but w/ a Salvo face cover. I still dive one of these with my O2 bottle.... it's a fine reg, but if you want something that will take you deep, find a balanced 2nd.

Can't speak for Barry, but I also know that every DR reg gets a complete bench check/performance eval before ever getting packaged (I bring this up because another retailer has also gotten their hands on some regs from this OEM and they ship them in the original packaging, signifying they do not test them..not a good idea!)

Larry was diving with one during my full cave class last week and he said he really liked them. And for the price its well worth it. I have the old dive rite Jordon mentioned and they are also exellent regs... probably cause they are almost the same thing:)
