It's currently meandering around off the east coast of Florida and is predicted to become a hurricane within 24 hours.
Although the computer models show it heading in different directions, the forecasters are more inclined to believe that it'll make a clockwise loop and then cut west across the northern part of the state and into the Gulf Of Mexico. Time will tell.

Really? My weather forecaster (Danny Treanor) said " We have NO confidence in the models. We don't know where it's going." About time they told the truth.
Too bad it has to go anywhere. Wish it would just dissapate into 'thin air'. ...

According to Fox news(the local Orlando Fox channel), it's now Hurricane Ophelia, and is still stationary. 30+mph steady winds on the coast.
The projected path they showed have it moving slowly NE for a couple days, then looping back around clockwise and heading back West. Could be bad news for Florida and/or Georgia early next week.

All we need is for Ophelia to sit in the Atlantic for a few days and gain strength and then do a clockwise loop and slam into the Florida east coast. :(

Has anyone else noticed that TWC is NOT using the yellow & red trapizoidal path prediction graphics on Ophelia??

I wonder if anyone has a lottery going to see exactly what this storm is going to do and where it is going to go. :?:

I guess we can forget about this one. It looks like the Carolina coast is going to take a hit from it.
