Without going into a lot of detail, I'm looking to replace the Diver's Supply manifolds on my steel 104's & 72's. I experiended a 'suprise' roll -off over this past week end, & that was a scary thing. This is the 2nd time this I've brushed an overhead, with one of the knobs, & it shut my air off-! On my original twin valve set-up, {yoke} I never once had this happen, as the valve profiles are smaller, & the furled knobs are also a lot tighter to turn on or off. What are the preferred manifolds that everyone is using today, & the sources to find them. Any suggestions or information will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Jack

ps: I'll admit to a partial amount of diver error, but I also think that this particular manifold is way too long, and the knobs are way too easy to turn-!

Personally I like easy rolling valves. When traveling through "tight" backmount passage, I just check the valves to make sure they are fine.

Then again, to each their own... :-D

BTW, PM "Titen" on this board, he is looking for a manifold.

I think you will find that the Sea Elite sold by Divers Supply is the favorite manifold of many. There are trade offs with all designs; the 1.5 turn may roll off easier, but it will also open up easier. Tegg summed it up quite well, get in the habit of checking your valves regularly, especially after traveling through tight spots. Being complacent about your valves can be even worse with a fine threaded valve; once you notice the valve has rolled of it will take a lot more effort to open it again. Just get in the habit of reaching back and checking those valves more frequently.
