Pictures take at Blue Spring, Orange City, FL. Water is still high but crystal clear in spring.

Cool pix...

We did a "gotta at least dive somewhere" dive also on Saturday...

Hit up Hospital Hole. Not to bad, the sulfide was extra thick this time...

WW is still blown out... 3-4ft vis....

Nice. But what's with the sensor up the nose? ;-)

We managed to get wet today also in 'Cold Hole', vis was back down to about 4' due to the rain we got last night. I swam back to about 600' without any improvement taking the chance to stare at the floor and examine the collection of cow bones.

I did run a reel out just inside the entrance looking for leads. I got into a bedding plane with mucho silt that got too small. Reeled back up in 0 vis, took my line arrow and went home. We got a decent 45 minute dive out of it though.

Did it rain the few days before TJ and I dove there? The vis was 3-4' at that point. Any idea how long the vis is affected after a rain? I'm thinking that I need to come up there after about a 2-3 week dry period to check the place out again. I'd love to see it in decent vis. Of course, I'll have to drag you along so I could actually find the place! :-D

I think it had rained a few days before you were there. Generally, if it's been a week without any rain it should be back to a decent level I would think. That is unless there was enough rain that there were elevated levels of runoff for several days.

Most caves here are much more directly influenced by the surface than FL. You will see more direct inputs into the groundwater, with fater flow paths to the surface. So it goes up and down pretty quickly by comparison.

Probably by the end of this week it should be back to a point where you can actually see where you're going. But I'm going to be in NC next weekend at the highland games.

Ok TJ,
You got me to hold your spool. So here is a pic of you,
The question is, are you running to get your c-card or are you trying to keep a wet spot from happening. :-D 8)

Who's diving the Hammerheaded CCR (at least it looks like one...)?

JB (another Hammerhead owner)

Belongs to Chip, PM him: http://cavediver.info/phpbb2/privmsg.php?mode=post&u=283

He is one of those guys that works too hard, so he doesn't get online all that often... Tell him his picture is on the web with that sensor stuck halfway up his nose...

Thanks

It was a great day to get a dive in and the options were limited. The water level was the highest that I have seen at Blue Springs (Orange City). We had to swim up to the head spring. The flow in the run was a little lower than usual. Dwain got 122' at the bottom.

Marbry ... The heads up display was mounted with a zip tie and it got a little twisted.

Dwain ... I think TJ was hungry. You were a great sport holding "his" spool. It should look familiar to Marbry and Keith (FDI). TJ likes using spools with his lift bags or when he is checking out new caves.

Resolute (JB) ... Yes, you are correct about the Hammerhead CCR.
