Hi Guys,

I'm going to be visiting high springs next week for a couple of days cave diving.

Just a quick question for you guys. Where would I be able to rent a couple of sets of doubles and get fills there?

Cheers,
Dave

Cave Country Dive Shop in High Springs. Also, Cave East is a few miles west of Ginnie.

Although they're not in High Springs, we frequent Amigo's Dive Center. They're open around the clock and are on the way to Little River and Peacock if you're coming from High Springs.

Wayne at Amigo's can set you up, and his self sercice 24hr fill station is awesome. air, nitrox32, trx10/65 and O2 all banked and custom trimix available.

I suspect a 24hr operation still can't rent tanks after hours

I like Cave East but I was impressed with Cave Country dive shop as well. Both make it very easy to get fills while you wait with the option for water baths if you prefer. (If it's rained recently, the mud on the apron at the end of the parking area at Cave Country can be slick, so watch your step - Marci crashed and burned there on the last trip.)

Amigos is nice if it is not out of your way. Having done my own fills for the majority of the last 2.5 decades, I like doing my own fills and their cascade system is pretty logical so even a newb can be taught how to run it pretty quickly. Trimix is basically a dial-a-mix system and again does not require high levels of multigas gas mixing genius. The computer system is pretty easy to manage and is fairly intuitive to use once you have an account set up.

Since it is self service you actually can rent tanks at any time of day or night. You just pick the tanks you want, put the gas you want in them, put them in your car, make a note on computer of what you took, and off you go. We did this two weeks ago. You don't even have to be an established customer (though it's nice to have someone show you around).

I am pleasantly amazed that this model works and it is a great convenience for us.

Thanks Wayne!

He can, it's all on the self checkout computer...I've had to pick up more than a few stage bottles in the middle of the night when I arrive. If you want a dive computer or some high priced items from the shop you have to knock on his door to get the cabinet unlocked though.
