As a part of fighting leaks in my "dry" Harvey's 6.5mm AN (aged neoprene) suit i ordered Bare $25 latex seals. The suit currently has neoprene seals that i have to ducktape each time i dive to prevent leaks. So finally i decided to install latex seals. How do i do it? Should i cut off existing neoprene seals or just glue latexes covering neoprene ones? What glue should i use: neoprene cement or polyurethane aquaseal? Show short should i cut new wrist seals?

I glued them trying to follow pics from "resources" although there was trilaminate and i have neoprene. Question left: why do we need to use reinforcing tape, what happens if i won't use it?

The way I was taught works fine with no leaks. I use a two litre bottle of soda to stick in the sleeve to fill it out. I cut the old seal at the cuff, leaving 1" of the old seal still glued to the sleeve. I then glue the new seal rubber to rubber and it holds real good, and you don't have to worry about cleaning the old stuff off the trilaminate. Hope this helps.

Old seals were also neoprene seals. I did pretty much the same as you described except i glued latex seals to neoprene and i had to "prime" the edge with one layer of cement before final glue. Didn't have a chance to test it yet.
