Alright, as much as I hate to admit it, I have to dive at Ginnie for a couple of days- since I am only in the country for two weeks this year, I have been informed by the boss (Chrissy) that camping or crashing at friends' places will not be acceptable during this time period. Since I normally do exactly that when down there, I am at a loss for a place to stay. Diver friendly is preferred, but not required. Privacy definitely required, and the less driving between there and Ginnie the better.
Suggestions?

Dood, I know you and the missus are both big into cave diving. But really. You're in the country for 2 weeks and you're spending *any* time doing anything outside of private time w/o your missus? Dood!

And who said I was without the Mrs? Why do you think I need the privacy?
(Though i did catch flack for trying to squeeze a class in.)
I'll make it up to her as she unspools into the virgin cave we just got permits for the next Tuesday.

The absolute NICEST place I have stayed down there is Cave Country Lodge (http://www.cavecountrylodging.com). They have all the amenities there except a master bedroom (at least the last time I was there it was still locked). Gourmet kitchen, clean hardwood floors, screened in porch, large sofas, separate garage to store your gear, and an alarm system.
It is close to Ginnie, GTOs (my favorite place to eat there), and Amigos.
Cheers,
Jeff

Jim's trailer is a good place to visit, with plenty of space for drying your gear - and quite conveniently located.
As an alternative, if you want a nice and relatively cheap place, I would suggest High Springs Country Inn (http://www.highspringsinn.com/home/). Its biggest advantage - it's close to Springs Diner...

Its biggest advantage - it's close to Springs Diner... And across the street from Cave Country Dive Shop.

If it is going to be just the two of you I woould consider http://www.hydrolodge.com/phototour.html
icestac is correct about cave country lodge. We stayed there for a week last April but it is a little big for two peeps. The Hydro Lodge is five ten minutes from Ginnie. Good luck.. :)
