I know it's not primarily a cave diving trip (although we will dive Chandelier Cave and tons of wreck penetration), so I hope it's OK to post here. I have 2 spots left on a 15 day Truk Lagoon & Palau dive trip, Sat April 9-23, 2011 - the optimal time of year to visit that region of the world. First, we'll fly from Houston to Truk Lagoon for an incredible week of WWII wreck diving aboard the luxurious Truk Odyssey (www.trukodyssey.com (http://www.trukodyssey.com/)). All meals, drinks and up to 5 dives per day (and Nitrox) are included. Then it's on to Palau for week's stay at the beautiful oceanfront Palau Pacific Resort (www.palauppr.com (http://www.palauppr.com/)) - Micronesia's only 5-star Pan Pacific resort and more of the best diving in the world at sites such as Blue Corner, German Channel, Chandelier Cave and Jellyfish Lake.
This package is $7320 pp/do and includes everything (r/t air on from Houston), except your breakfast & dinner in Palau (lunch is provided on the dive boat) and airport departure taxes, which can't be paid in advance (about $45 pp).
I lead this same trip in 2006 as the owner of Scuba Tiger in Orange Park, FL and it was the most spectacular diving I have done in my 24 year diving career. It is truly a trip of a lifetime. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact ASAP via PM, or by phone at 904-704-7561. Tiger May

That trip is on my list of "things to do before you die", but it's not in the cards right now. Post some pictures when you get back!

Our travel wholesaler is trying to fill the last 2 spots and has offered an incentive. These last spots are available at $6540 pp/do until March 1st! To get this price, BOTH spots must be taken. This is a STEAL for this incredible trip. Let me know ASAP if you're seriously interested. Before contacting me, please be sure that you already have the needed vacation time & funds available.

Been there, done that... :) See my travel website (http://www.mag3.biz/travel_photos/home_page.html): The PPR is very nice and where I stayed.
Which LDS are you using? I used Sam's Tours... I've done Chandelier Cave, but not all of it is completely underwater, although the main entrance is. You need to see if you can find a DM that will let you dive the "Temple of Doom (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bldo13-NfHM)." Most won't do it. It's is a "full cave" rated dive and I doubt most of the DM's there are even qualified to dive it. It appears to be lined, but a very frayed line. The entrance is inside the "Blue Holes" cavern. At the base of the blue holes is a cavern with a large opening to open water. The TOD vent is in that cavern, but it's dark and hard to see without a can light. That cavern is visited by a lot of OW divers, but the DM's don't let anyone get near the vent.
Enjoy... You'll like the "One man music Machine" that plays weeknights in the PPR restaurant. And the buffet is really nice! :-D

When we were there in 2008 with Neco Marine the DM let my wife & I head on into the Temple of Doom. He knew we were cave divers so he showed us the entrance when the rest of the group was on the other side of the blue hole. We were only diving single AL80 so we kept on the main line and really only penetrated a couple hundred feet. I remember it feeling a little creepy with the sand or silt lining everything and then seeing the turtle bones. It was cool and if you sweet talk the DM I'm sure he will accommodate your needs ;-)
If we weren't leaving for Truk in a couple days we might join you on the trip. Sounds like a great deal for someone!

We're also going with Neco Marine. Great operation. Used them in 2006 and had a fantastic experience.
