I took cavern with him about 3 months ago and he was great. Just be sure to pay attention in class and DONT BE LATE!!

Also make sure your buoyancy and trim is dialed in, it will make things go a lot smother.

What class are you looking at taking?

Nah, you don't want to get involved with someone like him. He used to have a Doberman pinscher, but now he just has a bunch of cats.

Johnny's on my short list of instructors I highly recommend. And a great guy.

"Just be sure to pay attention in class and DONT BE LATE!"
Why did that make me think of glowing eyes and "The Children of the Corn" movie?

Johnny is a very good instructor; one of the best. The only negative is that he is a Dallas Cowboys fan ;-)

Took cavern up to full cave with him. Highly recommend him. He is constantly changing his classes with very smart scenarios that help you learn. This is a lot of fun for you and rich learning experience... plus it is a lot of fun for him to watch you learning. :)

Very thorough and attentive to the detail. Get well prepared, practice reel skills, buoyancy and trim.

He is less strict when you take only cavern, and then come back with good skills. In general he goes with a pace that you need to learn. If you plan to also take intro pay a lot of attention to your skills and have open mind. Also go slowly. I took cavern and intro and then dove for more than a year the caves, before apprentice to full.

You will do great, have a lot of fun and do some fantastic dives with him, but more importantly you learn more than you think you may learn about yourself and this type of diving.
