We will be exhibiting our reel and our new light clip the LC-1 at DEMA this year.

We are proud to announce the release of the clip at this year’s DEMA November 17th – 20th we will be at booth #3038 with Atlantic Sports.

The clip holds a light to our very innovative and patented reel. This frees you from holding a light while using a reel, combining two tasks into one giving you more freedom while diving.
Using the best materials and a state of art design it easily and securely holds the light to the rail on the bottom of the REELER. It can slide on from either end to shine the light forward while laying or retrieving line. Simply attach the light to the clip with the supplied Velcro straps. The clip then slides on and off the rail when the button is pushed in.
Made of Acetal, and 316 stainless steel for maximum life and corrosion resistance.

Looks a bit Jam-O-Matic to me. I hate to be negative when it come to innovation, but this is CDF after-all and our lives depend on the details. The video shows two different reels, a closed face and an open face which confused me a tad. Perhaps you should test with well known and respected cavers before soliciting here. If your product is good, it may well be worth the effort and expense.

I'm quite sure Forrest tested it awhile back. He probably fits the well known and respected part well enough ;)

I'm sure they're all enclosed - but for marketing purposes the open reel was used to show what is going on inside.

Good enough for me. Is the review public?

It is on the spectrum webage:

Dennis,
I tested the reel in a quarry in Tennessee this weekend. Visibility was about 30', and temp about 60 degrees. All the caves were very murky form recent rains.

Pros: Instructions were not really necessary for using the reel, but very useful for replacing line. Line is highly visible in the water. Reel feeds out easily, and winds in easily. No real need to constantly watch what you are doing. It never jammed on me, even when I deliberately let the line go slack. Reel can be operated with heavy gloves. It works fine in open water, which is what it was designed for.

Cons: (mostly for cave diving): Line is too thin for cave diving. Cave divers usually use #24 line (240 lb test). (reel has 135lb test braided Dacron, in the future we will have spools that will accommodate different size lines) The reason is due to abrasion where the line contacts the cave wall. The typical distance needed to run a line is about 100-150 feet, so 400' is un-necessary for cave diving. The reel is probably big enough for 150' of #24 line.
Thanks for letting me test it.

No, can't make it this year. Mike Young will be there, I will tell him to go by your booth
