I have been working on setting my cookies, seconds, lights on my Nomad D rings. The one issue I always have is getting enough separation between them to keep my chest area clutter free. When diving bare hands in the warm caves of Florida its not really an issue. I do most of my diving in cold water with dry gloves and dry suit. I am always looking for suggestion on cleaning up my S.M. gear profile.

I removed the extra D-rings and just have 2 - hog style. Depending on the dive I may keep my back up lights clipped to the d-rings and bungeed to the shoulder straps down near the waist belt (backmount style) - but more often in sidemount I have them clipped onto my helmet where they are out of the way, easy to access and very usable in tight quarters where the primary may be inconvenient. I also have a bracket for my primary on the helmet.

Arrows and cookies either go into a pocket or are clipped on the bungee on my computer or goodman handle. Usually both - with the ones planned to be used for the dive in ready storage on the computer bungee and the rest on a pigtail clipped inside a pocket.

Pockets are your friend as is a helmet in terms of keeping your chest clean in sidemount.

I also carry the left hand reg on a bungee necklace, backmount stuyle so on the average sidemount dive, the only thing clipped to the chest D-rings are the tank bungees, the right hand reg when it is not in use, and the primary light head at the start of the dive before it is hand or helmet mounted.
