Can someone post a full cave dive report from there log book. I do not cave dive but I can post a detailed wreck dive. I would to see if they complement one another, being they are alike in many ways and VERY different in others.

Hi Ted,

We post cave dive reports under the Dive Reports Forum ( http://cavediver.net/phpbb2/viewforum.php?f=5 ).

You can post your detailed wreck dive report under the Dive Reports Forum and you can post wreck pictures in the photo album under the Wrecks - Steel Caves section ( http://cavediver.net/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=518 ).

What exactly are you looking for in a full cave dive report?

Hey Ted,
My instructor advised me to use a composition notebook instead of a store bought dive log book. I literally make it a dive report with start pressures, turn pressures, time of turn, time it takes to reach a pre-planned jump and how much pressure to get there, deco times, and other notable things so I can refer to it in the future. I usually write all over my wrist slates when I dive taking notes for my log book. I also document what mix I am using, time in, time out, visibility, and other factors that really stick out in a certain system.

That's to much work... I did that for awhile, but after diving so much recently, I just put location, time, depth, deco, date, conditions, and dive buddy, if there was one.

Of course over the last 6 months I haven't logged a single dive, I guess because I am to lazy to do it after the dives.. One of my buddies actually does his logs at deco using an underwater notebook. I think I may start doing the same.

I recently began logging my dives in wet notes. During deco is the best time to log info. Once the deco is done and the dive over, all I have to add is the run time. This is written just under the table if I did any before the dive.

I use paper log books and electronic log books, but I don't always download my dives to my electronic log books. I'm working on a detailed dive report, from this past Sunday, for a couple of requesters.

The main reasons why I make my logs so complex is so in the future I can reference from the log to give me info about a cave that I have not been too in years, or to give someone info about how long it takes to say-make it to the bats at Ginnie. The log is also more credible to show if you are continuing more advance technical training as proof of your dives. I only get in two dives a week, usually both done in one day, and I have plenty of time in between to log the dives.

I've got some logbook .pdf files I could share. If it's possible, how do I do it?
