Has anyone dived Palm Sink lately? I stopped by there yesterday and took a look at it and was surprised to see it without any duckseed or scum on the surface. The visibility on the surface even looked decent. I dived there frequently in 1994 - 1995 and even created a survey map of it, but my interest turned towards other sites and I haven't dived there since then. I'm interested in diving it again, but I have no idea who the current owner is and if it's legal to dive there.

Good luck...

I wouldn't waste my time in that crap hole...

Don't be surprised to find nothing but a real thick sulfide layer at about 60 ft and nothing but black crap at the bottom... if not a few cars and bodies...

Although if you wanna dive it... have at it, and I expect a full dive report with pictures... :D

I have stopped and walked over to the hole acouple times but it never looked inviting...and also with the 30ft walk through the marsh and cattails I dont think I would want to mess with that getting in and out of the sink. but I would be interested to know if anyone tried to dive it......I just dont wanna find out for myself

Tegg:

The viz usually wasn't good down to the top of the debris mound, but it was always great at depth and along the outer walls.

My son-in-law has developed an interest in sinkhole diving, so I've taken him to Hospital Hole and Hudson Grotto. Palm Sink is right there in the same area, so I thought that I'd introduce him to that one too. It would give me a chance to re-visit an old favorite too.

Titan:

The best entry point into it is on the south side. You can step down from the grass right onto solid rock.

I made 20 - 30 dives there in 1994 - 1995. I surveyed and mapped the entire sinkhole and even shot some video.

I've seen "Lost Fourty" from the surface, but have never dived it.
