FYI, Forty Fathoms is open daily again for the general public. General Public means instructors with students... Instructor free with 2 or more students. They had reopened one weekend a month, but now open every day. Reservations encouraged... Link and more info (http://www.40fathomgrotto.com/)

I was there yesterday, Drew is back, and vis (from surface) looked better than usual.

Hokey Smokes! I haven't been there since 1993! What a bunch of stuff on the water! And people b**** about putting in stairs to Cow!

(I'm sitting here, trying to recover from a migraine, trying to spiffy up my dive log, correct the numbering scheme and whatnot--I had a dive there to 240' back in '93--good memories! :-) )

Anybody know what the vis is actually like?

I was there a couple of weeks ago and the vis was around 45 feet.

Wow is right! Even more platforms on the surface now. My late buddy and I were there two years ago next month teaching a deep class. At that time they apologized for no air on the dock and said they were going to put in an elevator. Apparently they did.

Its pricey. I enjoyed diving there. I became a Grotto Guide back before they closed. I couldn't get a lot of interest in diving there because of the price. I will go back though.

I was there Jan 31 and Vis was around 20-25 ft. They were in the process of installing even more underwater platforms.
