I've been told there is an RV park. But I think it's near Puerto Aventuras.

Never seen a US/Canadian style campground down there, although the various beach cabanas are basically camping.

Just drive around until you see this RV, and you are there!

A little obscure, but it is in Paamul.

The north end of Tulum beach just south of the ruins always has a bunch of tent campers, and there's access to showers and toilet there. This can be short stay or long.

I find your question intriguing as I typically travel via my motorhome to dive sites in the US and Canada. I've wanted to motorhome into Mexico (particularly the east coast) but have not had enough available time and have been concerned about safety/security. I do know a number of fellow RVers who have traveled in Mexico without incident but the majority are either travelling in groups or seem to prefer the Baja area. I did a google of Mexico campgrounds and the closest that I found to Tulum is the Paa Mul RV Resort (http://www.ontheroadin.com/yucatan/rvparkpaamul.htm) in Playa Del Carmen, Quintana Roo which is 10 mi south of Playa Del Carmen so its fairly close. Would love to hear any post adventure experiences if you do decide to go! Attached are pics from past dive adventures at Duck's Dive (Pt Traverse) in Ontario, Portage Quarry in Ohio and Key West.

Thanks guys for your replies, i was basicly looking for the cheapest accomodations possible: got lucky went for a beach front cabana at $35 night. Thought it would be a dump but it turned out ok.....
