When i joined this site i was interested in cave diving techniques and equipment but had no intention of doing anything more than enjoying your stories and pictures and learning a little bit about diving in these environments......

..to make a long story short, my wife and i are totally hooked.

My wife is around 110 pounds and when she grabbed a set of doubles and tried to carry them she sent me strong verbal and non verbal instructions that something needed to change; thank god for side mounting.

We went through side mount and cavern certification with Steve Cushman completing our cavern dives in Aerolito and Dos Ojos.
We found Steve to be a patient and fun instructor.
We both read everything we could get our hands on prior to the course, set up line in our living room and pool to practice line drills and generally had a great time.
I'm VERY glad we have used side mount from the beginning.

Once in Cozumel we met up with German Yanez and went through our Intro to Cave course. German was also a great instructor, very methodical in his teaching style and very friendly.
Lost buddy and line drills were fun and the class went well.

We plan on spending the rest of the week in coz and on the mainland primarily diving cenotes and caves....neither of us want to do anything but go into caves....it's hopeless at this point isn't it?

I work remote, anyone know of rentals on merritts that will allow 4 cats over a couple months this summer?

Oh, the bug got you! I did my Intro with German -- he's a lovely man, isn't he?

I haven't quite gotten to the point where I only dive open water to keep my skills up for caves, but it's coming . . .
